  • Responsibilities

    Teach underserved and underrepresented K-12 students the fundamentals of Coding (e.g., Scratch, JavaScript, Python, C++ and/or Unity) and Robotics (Arduino and VEX). Put your skills to use for an excellent cause.

    Classes take place after-school, Saturday mornings and during the summer (weekly camps). Instructors teach the class and supervise classroom activities. They also work in conjunction with Assistant Instructors, Site Coordinators and Volunteers to create a productive, fun and enlightening experience for the students. This role requires a strong work ethic, a passion for STEAM education, punctuality and responsibility. Candidates should possess a can-do attitude, resourcefulness and patience. Experience working with K-12 students is preferred.

    Candidates need knowledge of the content and a dedication to creating an inclusive and fun learning environment, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Instructors will be responsible for designing and implementing a course. curriculum and syllabus. Classes include, but are not limited to Scratch, Python, JavaScript, Unity, C++ and HTML. We teach logic, critical thinking and critical thinking.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Skills in Coding (i.e., Scratch, Python, C++, JavaScript, et al.) or Robotics (Arduino and VEX)
    • Manage class and team: Site Coordinator and Volunteers
    • Prepare class curriculum, syllabus and lesson plan
    • Teach beginner, intermediate and advanced levels
    • Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
  • Qualifications
    • Minimum of 1-year teaching experience and/or STEAM-related work experience
    • Content competency and enthusiasm for subject areas
    • Demonstrated effectiveness working with K-12 students
    • Desire to teach with technology and improve skills
    • Classroom management and teaching skills
    • Collaborative and project based learning skills
