Iona College seeks an Assistant Rowing Coach to Assist in developing, promoting and supervising all facets of the College Men’s and women’s rowing program. The Assistant Coach will assist the head Coach on overseeing the academic excellence of all student athletes that are involved with the program and will be responsible for recruiting quality student athletes for the future of the rowing program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Required Skills
Education: B.S. degree required from a recognized college or university. Master’s preferred
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of collegiate Men’s and women’s rowing and/or coaching experience.
Specialized Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Competence in leadership, and decision making. Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong initiative, detail and follow up skills with students athletes and staff members. Demonstrates professional image on and off the water. Skills in counseling, and mentoring athletes. Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Word. Must have a valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements: Work is performed in a coaching, athletic, competitive outdoor environment. Must be in excellent physical health to handle fast pace environment. Able to work in hot, freezing, humid, rain, sleet, snow and stand and sit for long, extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 100lbs.
