PART-TIME PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR - LAS VEGAS, NEVADA

SLATER HANIFAN GROUP (SHG), a WESTWOOD team is seeking a Part-time Public Works Construction Inspector to join our operations in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate, inspect, monitor and document work performed and progress of contractors
• Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Prepare inspection reports and documentation
• Represent firm and clients in a professional manner
• Attend meetings and provide input
• Coordinate with other disciplines and support services

Required Skills

• Strong organization and record keeping skills
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Knowledge and familiarity with construction methods and procedures for public works infrastructure
• Knowledge and familiarity with construction and traffic safety standards
• Knowledge and familiarity with construction materials and standards
• Ability to solve problems and to calculate and apply basic mathematical principles applicable to construction inspection

Required Experience

High school diploma required

Associates degree or Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred

25+ years of experience providing construction inspection services, preferably in Southern Nevada

Good reputation amongst peers, clients, and government agencies

Valid Nevada driver’s license

One or more of the following certifications is required:

• NICET level 2, 3, or 4
• ACI
• ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspection
• ATSSA
• WPCM
• NAQTC
