Mentoring and coaching current students and alumni about career paths, internships, job skills, resume writing, interviewing skills, networking, and more. Strategically identify and cultivate positive relationships with businesses and community partners to enhance Tylerâ??s job board, recruit Tyler students, and create a culture of employer collaboration in campus events. Work with faculty, program advisory committee members, and local employers to provide high quality career and internship experiences to current students. Engage local employers with the college through college job fairs, experiential activities with students such as mock interviews, panel discussions, and campus presentations. Collect data and record to evaluate and assess program development. Minimum Qualifications Bachelorâ??s degree strongly preferred. Knowledge of career counseling principles and practices, marketing strategies, and current employment trends. Exceptional communication and organizational skills. Demonstrate initiative, and be focused on student success. Ability to exercise sound judgement, working independently and in a team environment. Ability to multi-task and prioritize work. Collaboratively develop and implement innovative strategies and programs. Experience in advising or coaching in a career or academic setting. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check. High school diploma (or equivalent) required. Preferred Qualifications Bachelorâ??s degree preferred. Special Requirements *All full-time classified employees new to the Commonwealth of Virginia will serve a 12 month probationary period.
