Junior Designer / Office of Communications and Technology

We are looking for a junior designer to join the Communications and Technology team at the Tisch School of the Arts. You should have an excellent aesthetic eye and the ability to work within a hardworking and enthusiastic team at the center of a high-profile event to raise money to support critical student needs. You must be able to create and design digital and print materials under the direction of the team’s senior leaders, including print materials, advertisements, and digital assets.

Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Graphic design is the first priority, however, additional work may be available for candidates with CSS, HTML, website management, video production, and editing experience. Applicants must present portfolio and references. This job begins in December and continues throughout the end of April. Hours will vary weekly. February, March, and April are peak months with multiple deadlines.

Also helpful, but not required:

• CSS & HTML
• HTML5, CSS3 (including transitions), A CSS generator, such as LESS or SASS, A CSS grid framework, such as Bootstrap or YUI. HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript and Adaptive and Responsive web implementations and standards.
• Excellent organizational, planning, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to monitor, analyze, troubleshoot and report on website performance and use.
• Programming of e-mail blasts and web forms for digital marketing and communications.
• Video Production & Editing: Knowledge of basic DSLR video production including audio recording, videography, and lighting. Video editing using Adobe Premiere and After Effects. Ability to compress and post videos to Vimeo.
• Website Management: General website updates and maintenance using Adobe Experience Manager. Ability to troubleshoot front-end web design issues using HTML and CSS.
