    Required Qualifications: This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Events Management, or related field and a minimum of four (4) years related experience in a college or university setting. This position requires living in an on-campus apartment (maximum of 4 total for occupancy) on the first floor of the student residence hall or in an available unit in the student apartment complex.

    **Preferred Qualifications: **A master's degree is preferred. Previous experience in student housing is also preferred.

    **Working Hours: **8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, however a flexible work schedule including additional hours, weekends, evenings and/or holidays is required.

    Key Responsibilities **: **This is not a comprehensive list of responsibilities.

    • Coordinate, plan, and organize the activities of the Residence Life Department. Provide direction and oversight for the administration of department functions. Develop, recommend, and manage operating budget requirements. Manage a living community of approximately 250 student residents. Coordinate office operations to include confirming room assignments, key access management, and the check in and check out process. Serve as liaison with Admissions, DSC Housing corporation, Student Accounts, Counseling Office, Financial Aid, Information Technology, Director of Athletics, and other departments as appropriate. Serve as liaison to Facilities Services staff, reporting issues and ensuring reported issues are resolved.
    • Develop and distribute clear directives necessary for smooth administration. Provide supervision and management to ensure efficient and effective operation of the Resident Housing Department. Select, train, assign, and evaluate staff including student employees. Maintain high visibility and availability, including attending student events and activities, and regularly interacting with student residents.
    • Respond to inquiries and/or concerns from students, staff, or the public to solve problems or discrepancies. Collaborate with other areas and departments to identify and support activities of benefit to the entire College. Cultivate a positive and engaging living environment that fosters a sense of belonging and enable students to build positive relationships with one another.
    • Attend or conduct staff and other College meetings to exchange information. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with work order systems and Peoplesoft. Compile information, maintains records, and provides occupancy reports in addition to monthly and yearly reports of student programs, activities, and student conduct concerns.
    • Assist in the management of the College’s student code of conduct process by implementing and enforcing all college and departmental rules, policies, and procedures, in addition to supporting the residential students in solving problems and providing them with referrals to campus and community resources as needed.
    • Serve as on-call contact and emergency response liaison for the student resident housing units. Participate in a collaborative judicial/student discipline process with the Office of Judicial Affairs for students living in on campus housing. Ensure the security and safety of students.
    • Responsible for selecting and training student resident staff including student employees.

    **Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: **

    • Ability to relate to and work with students, exercise good judgment, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
    • Ability to exercise strong organizational skills, work in a multiple-task environment, promote positive student, faculty, and staff relations, and relate to the student population.
    • Ability to use basic computer software programs including Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Some heavy lifting is required during special events.
