    Required Qualifications: **** This position requires a Master’s Degree in a discipline represented within the College of Business, Engineering and Technology or a closely related field. Six (6) years of supervisory work experience at an institution of higher education is also required.

    Preferred Qualifications: A Doctorate degree is preferred. Experience supervising faculty is also preferred.

    Key Responsibilities : This is not a comprehensive list of responsibilities.

    • Oversee and provide leadership for four academic schools: School of Engineering Technology, School of Business Administration, School of Computer Science and Building and Architectural Technology and School of Hospitality and Culinary Management. Full and part-time faculty report to department chairs, who report to the AVP.
    • Oversee operational and managerial aspects of the departments and ensure highest standards in professionalism, student success and academic integrity.
    • Reports to Vice President for Academic Affairs, but also expected to provide input in operations, visioning and planning to Vice President, Provost, President, and any other executive staff member.
    • Responsible for overseeing hiring and development of qualified faculty in each area of responsibility. Provides direct supervisory input into personnel matters.
    • The AVP is expected to be a frequent and effective presenter to the larger community about initiatives and accomplishments of the division of Business, Engineering and Technology. The AVP should be an effective communicator and comfortable with making presentations to various groups including boards, statewide leaders in the disciplines within the division and internal constituencies.
    • Provide vision and long-term planning solutions for the division and help shape the college budget and strategic plan.
    • Work with four other academic AVPs to provide leadership for Academic Affairs generally, and to carry out division-wide duties such as managing continuing contract and promotion processes, budget development and strategic planning.
    • Respond effectively to inquiries and/or concerns from students, staff, or the public regarding areas of responsibility. Develop knowledge of internal policies and procedures to effectively advise on efficient resolution of issues.
    • Exercise knowledgeable leadership regarding outside accreditation and certifications of programs within the College of Business, Engineering and Technology.
    • Serve as liaison for areas of responsibility with other individuals, groups, and organizations both internal and external to the College community. Provide long term planning and programs in area of responsibility in accordance with federal, state, and Board policies, rules, and regulations. Oversee implementation of strategic objectives for the areas of responsibility.

    Product Life Cycle Engineering

    • Supports software requirements maintenance for aerospace and defense electromechanical actuation systems applications.
    • Evaluates and maintains software requirements developed from end-item and / or systems specifications, and evaluates requirements / test / code traceability using IBM Rational DOORS (Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System).
    • Supports coding for embedded applications, PC-based applications, scripts, and development tools.
    • Supports integration of mechanical, electrical, software / firmware, and test project artifacts to ensure the system meets customer requirements.
    • Reviews customer / system specifications, and assesses compliance of the software to the requirements.
    • Understands FAA, EASA, or military certification requirements, and follows associated design / development processes.
    • Understands system safety, reliability, and maintainability aspects of the product.
    • Knowledge of performance modeling using Matlab / Simulink, PLECS or similar tools.
    • Supports cost proposal activity for embedded code development (code, tests, documentation, and tools).
    • Supports development efforts for customer funded projects as well as IR&D projects.
    • Supports product design analysis.
    • Supports project management with task tracking.
