  • Responsibilities

    Job Summary

    The Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for all aspects of troubleshooting, repair and maintenance service of a wide range of equipment that is needed to perform all landscape functions.

    Production

    • Troubleshoot equipment accurately and repair breakdowns quickly to maintain operating efficiency.
    • Proven abilities in a wide range of technical skills in repairing all landscaping and construction equipment with 2-cylce engines and 4-cycle engines and other small engines including but not limited to: mowers, blowers, string trimmers, tractors, and skidsters/track loaders.
    • Perform oil changes, air filter changes, belt replacements and inspect all safety devices of equipment.
    • Perform off site repairs.
    • Pick up of parts from vendors.
    • Assist in maintaining service records for all equipment.
    • Maintain and organize parts as needed.
    • Assure that all parts go through company inventory.
    • Maintain Shop area, yard, and building.
    • Communicates with managers internally as needed in order to ensure crews have proper equipment to perform task.
    • Ensure OSHA and other regulations are followed for all equipment.
    • Assist Company in seasonal services provided to customers.

    Required Skills

    • Must have a high school diploma or GED with 3 years experience in related field.
    • Must have a valid NC Driver’s license and maintain a good driving record (CDL preferred)
    • Must submit to a reference and criminal background check.
    • Must have good communication skills and ability to motivate others
    • Must comply with Bland Landscaping Company, Inc. policies and procedures
    • Must practice safety with chemicals and all equipment
    • Must wear company – provided uniforms and use personal protective equipment as needed
    • Must be able to pass a Criminal Background check

    Required Experience

    3 - 5 years' experience
