    SUMMARY OF OVERALL PURPOSE

     

    The Senior Digital Designer will be responsible for reinforcing and evolving an established brand and growing digital design, producing artwork to the client’s brief, and exacting standards. The Designer operates as an omni-channel creative and production specialist, collaborating with client teams to understand the production needs for a wide range of assignments. They’ll be challenged to think strategically about how to obtain the best possible outcomes––maximizing quality, scalability, and meeting aggressive deadlines. The ideal candidate will possess solid production design/art skills and experience, knowledge of best practices in production, and a willingness/ability to push vendors and partners in holding them accountable to production standards. The Designer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, solving problems on the fly, and skillfully managing concurrent projects with equal parts discipline, diligence, and optimism.

     

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

     

     

     

    PRODUCTION & FILE PREPARATION: set up files and standardized templates to be scaled and reused (sizes, format, etc.), revisions to existing work, manage release of files for production and oversee pre- and post-production needs; basic production artist skills: versioning, resizing, clipping, etc.

     

    CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT: Lead and execute from initial design concepts through to full stage for a wide variety of outputs such as print, social, digital, campaigns, event fulfillment, video, motion design animations with effects, and more. Creation & edits to iconography, typography, infographics, illustrations, and other designs; photo retouching; purchase of external creative assets (stock imagery, video, plug-ins, etc.) as needed; develop and implement new communication solutions to meet the needs of the target audience.  Familiarity creating and implementing accessible (WCAG 2.1) designs, HTML, CSS or front-end implementation. Knowledge of user experience (UX), accessibility, information architecture (IA), design principles, form design and grid layouts.  Design and implement end-to-end digital experiences for all supported screen sizes, device types, and user contexts (Responsive Design/Adaptive Design).  Maintain brand consistency across all projects.

     

    DIGITAL PROBLEM-SOLVING: utilize and acquire skills in new technology including Marketing Automation and a Digital Asset Management tool; creation of self-service templates; stay current with best practices, trends, and industry techniques to share ideas and knowledge with others to ensure creative team is kept to standards; take courses to gain and improve skills and capabilities where needed

     

    PRODUCTION EFFICIENCIES AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT: collaborate with internal and external vendors, clients, and creative associates; streamline internal processes without compromising quality; develop guidelines to help define all production requirements including proof-reading guidelines, image and file storage/naming conventions, archiving, and be a steady enforcer of production standards. Take accountability for managing project timelines and meeting deadlines.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

     

    • 5-7+ years corporate design experience for print and Web.

    • Bachelor’s degree in graphic art, visual communications or related field.

    • Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, MS with strong emphasis on PowerPoint.

    • Experience scaling creative concepts for use in omni-channel execution -  including print, digital web, email, social, advertising, motion graphics, event fulfillment,  

    • Experience and familiarity with accessibility, UX, HTML, IA design principles

    • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to adapt to new technology and programs

    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as a high degree of creativity, flexibility and self-direction – able to juggle many priorities and rightly prioritizes their work accordingly

    • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, lead and coordinate projects in a deadline-sensitive environment.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a team and customer focus.

     

     

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications
    • Five plus years leading/supervising operations, preferred.
    • QA/Sanitation experience is a plus.
    • Must have excellent communication skills.
    • Working knowledge of good manufacturing practices, hazard analysis and critical control points, lean manufacturing and other food safety, quality and manufacturing principles.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with employees at all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to work with employees at all levels and to motivate direct reports; specifically mentoring and coaching individuals and identifying short- and long-term development needs and providing appropriate support. 
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities at one time using effective organizational skills and judgment in an environment of frequently changing circumstances.
    • MS office suite proficiency (Word, Excel, and Outlook proficiency min. requirement)
    • Bilingual is a plus
    • Four year college degree in business management, production operations management, agricultural science, food science is preferred.
    • Work is generally performed within a manufacturing environment subjected to temperatures of cold and warm along with wearing the proper PPE, with standard office equipment available along with plant manufacturing environment.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, walk, use hands or finger, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, or controls; may be required to lift up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision to a computer screen.
