  • Responsibilities

    The Associate Director of Quality Management and Compliance reports directly to the Associate Dean Quality Management, Compliance and Cont. Ed and is responsible for the overall development, implementation, and management of both the Compliance Program and Quality Management System and all its activities for GSDM. The Associate Director is responsible for identifying and maintaining the Quality Systems, processes, procedures required to meet all laws and regulatory requirements, industry standards i.e. International Standardization Organization, for all related compliance and quality measures, while ensuring continuous process improvement utilizing effective CAPA strategies (Corrective Action and Preventative Action), conformance and effectiveness. The Assoc Director is responsible to identify and develop the appropriate and relevant compliance processes, procedures and controls working in conjunction with the Director of Health Privacy and Compliance at Boston Univeristy, that are required to operate the Dental School from a Risk Management perspective. This will include it's clinical activities and laws governing patient care and federal Medicaid/Medicare compliance. The Assoc. Director is also responsible to identify and develop quality measures, quality compliance reporting and quality documentation, utilizing document control practices and policy and procedural writing. This includes writing ofquality policies, procedures, processes, job aids and practices for 1) Accreditation Standards set forth by (CODA) -Commission on Dental Accreditation related to Quality Control; 2) Quality Compliance and Compliance activities associated with effective clinical operations; and 3) Clinical Guidelines. It is expected the Assoc Dir will project manage CAPA - corrective and preventitive action projects, process improvement projects and auditing projects identified by the Associate Dean that are designed to drive the process to achieve effective root cause solutions. The Associate Director is responsible to direct, manage and develop one direct report, Program Manager for Quality Management and Compliance, which includes providing guidance and direction on Quality and Compliance initiatives, training and performance management.

    Required Skills

    Bachelor Degree in Business, Management, Engineering or equivalent. Master Degree Preferred A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible quality experience in a healthcare environment. Must be able to effectively utilize traditional Quality Tools such as flow charts, graphs,histograms and scatter diagrams; cause and effect diagrams Must have utilized and implemented Continuous Improvement methods and methodologies as an example -Kaizen/Six Sigma or equivalent Must have previous experience with developing, implementing and managing an internal audit system. Prior supervisory experience required.
