    The Department of Biology at Boston University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer beginning January 1, 2021, renewable based on satisfactory performance.

     

    We seek a colleague with a commitment to undergraduate education and a track record of excellence in teaching. Teaching responsibilities include 4 lecture and/or lab-based courses per year in the areas of introductory biology, cell biology, and molecular biology. The successful candidate will have a PhD in biology or a related field, and experience with evidence-based teaching practices and incorporating research into teaching. The position will involve active engagement in the academic life of the Biology program, such as serving as an academic advisor to a cohort of undergraduate biology majors, coordinating student peer-mentoring programs, developing curricular materials, serving as a research mentor for undergraduates, participating in Senior Thesis, Master’s or PhD committees, and contributing to the development of academic initiatives.   • Qualifications

     

    Completion of high school diploma or GED is required.

    NCRC Silver, Gold, Platinum Certificate highly preferred.

    Must be able to operate various pieces of warehouse equipment, such as, fork lift and pallet jack.

    Must be able to acquire forklift license in timely manner.

    Maintains good attendance in accordance with attendance policy, including working overtime when required.

    Must be able to work in a team orientated environment.

    Must be able to follow instructions, safety rules and regulations.

     

    Must be able to pass a physical and Hair Drug Screen that goes back 90 days; as well as, a background check.
