  • Responsibilities

    The Slone Epidemiology Center, a multidisciplinary research center, is seeking a Research Data Analyst, who is interested in working full-time with our neuropsychology data analytics team whose goal is to identify and research factors associated with brain health. Much of the work is centered around the different forms of dementia that develop throughout the lifespan. The role of the position is to help manage and maintain the data collection efforts for a large on-going follow-up study. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, developing quality assurance algorithms to assess accuracy of new data sources, developing and customizing data analytic models, assisting external collaborators with data requests, data cleaning/curation, and data analyses.

    Required Skills

    The ideal candidate should have at least a Bachelor's degree in health science or public health (Masters degree preferred) with a proven track record of academic excellence and proficiency in statistical computer languages (preferably R or SAS). They must be comfortable working with large databases to mine and curate custom datasets. They must also be able to work with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams (both within and outside of Boston University). This entry-level position is a great fit for someone pursuing a career in statistics and/or big data analytics.
