    The BUild Lab IDG Capital Student Innovation Center at Boston University provides a variety of signature programs to foster a vibrant innovation community at BU and help students develop innovation and entrepreneurship skills, build an entrepreneurial mindset, and turn their ideas into something real. It is also a co-working space for new ventures and collaborative projects.

    The Program Manager will report to the Managing Director of the BUild Lab and will be an integral part of the BUild Lab Team to develop and implement programming, continuously improve student experiences, systems, and processes, and coach student teams. Examples of our programming include venture incubation programs, workshops, large-scale speaker events, challenges/hackathons, 1:1 coaching, etc.

    • Develop, implement, and manage high-impact programming, in collaboration with other program team members, to inspire innovation, help students develop innovation and entrepreneurship skills, and foster a vibrant innovation community at the university
    • Lead design and organizing of at least one major event/programming annually
    • Design delightful experiences for students and stakeholders
    • Provide coaching to students who are developing new ideas and early-stage ventures
    • Develop and improve program processes and systems
    • Gather and analyze data to inform decision-making
    • Supervise student interns as appropriate
    • Communicate and coordinate with student groups and stakeholders at the university, alumni, and external experts to further BUild Lab’s mission

    Required Skills

    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experiences, such as program management and development, entrepreneurial/startup experiences, strategy and operations, working with college students, innovation training, etc.
    • Strong skills in problem solving, project management, data gathering and analysis, and communication
    • Experience in improving systems and processes; ability to learn new systems quickly
    • Ability to work well and build relationships with students and stakeholders
    • Understanding of the innovation process and exposure to the local innovation ecosystem
    • Experience in civic innovation, advocacy, social entrepreneurship, healthcare, technology, creative industries, and/or event planning are pluses
