    POSITION OVERVIEW:  Our IT team is growing and currently looking for an ENTERPRISE DATA ARCHITECT.  As a member of the Enterprise Architecture team, the individual in this role will be at the forefront of Data and Information architecture definition and implementation. You will provide leadership in architectural planning and solution delivery across multiple domains/ solution areas, contributing to the future success of the businesses through innovations in technology. You will be responsible for leading opportunity identification and analysis, problem definition, and overseeing the development and deployment of advanced information and data design practices within the Enterprise Architecture organization.

     

    This role, along with business leadership and leaders within Data and Analytics Engineering will lead and contribute to the definition of an overarching data strategy and architecture that will align investments with the highest impact areas, while producing a suite of complementary models, tools, and technologies. You’ll need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with other leaders across the enterprise to identify opportunities and risks, develop, and deliver solutions that support business strategies and protect Organization intellectual property.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead clear definition of information and data across Trustmark businesses and help clarify ownership and stewardship
    • Partner with Application, Data and Analytics Engineering leadership to establish an information architecture plan across multiple solution areas
    • Own information design through conceptual data models and align and review logical data models, API definitions and analytical data products for consistency and completeness.
    • Drive Information Interaction Framework for collaborating/sharing information across business capabilities and functions
    • Analyze and influence end-to-end data and integration design for key business domains
    • Architect and design solutions for data quality, reliability and data governance
    • Support the definition and implementation of MDM programs within Trustmark as appropriate
    • Embrace and influence technology platform thinking and drive architecture principles of security, scale, uptime and reliability
    • Contribute to and implement the architecture strategy for enterprise information and data management
    • Partner with business and enterprise data leaders to provide technical advice on data governance, data quality and stewardship
    • Guide and mentor engineering teams to raise collective technical expertise
    • Proactively identify and manage risks, opportunities, compliance issues or other architecture concerns
    • Perform as the lead solution architect in driving the architecture solution for business and IT projects
    • Lead innovation and maintain technical skills to stay up to date with industry trends
    • Translate and communicate complex infrastructure concepts with business and IT partners in easy to understand terms
    • As a member of Enterprise Architecture team, take active part in all aspects architecture governance processes representing the information architecture point of view

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Strong intellectual curiosity
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field plus at least 10 years of experience working in Enterprise and Data Architecture and/or Engineering
    • 8+ years in hands-on experience in data analysis, modeling, data engineering, or analytics
    • Strong understanding of data and information architecture, including experience with Big Data, Relational databases, streaming and batch data processing
    • A solid understanding and experience with data APIs, data warehousing, reporting and analytics platforms
    • Experience implementing data management solutions for non-technical data stewards and business owners
    • Experience working with Microsoft Azure Data Platforms (Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, Synapse), Databricks, Microsoft Dynamics 365
    • Experience implementing MDM solutions leveraging Informatica
    • Exemplary general IT knowledge with applications development, testing, deployment, operations, architecture standards, best practices, information security and networking
    • Ability to work as a team member and leader in a diverse technical environment
    • Knowledge of The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) or other architecture framework
    • Knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, CCPA and PCI regulations
    • Experience working with enterprise data platforms on Microsoft Azure, AWS
    • Experience performing as a project-level architecture to design for information security on large-scale projects involving complex topology

    •Advanced degree required, PhD preferred

    •A thorough understanding of academic culture and the environment of a large research university

    •At least 3 years experience with learning outcomes assessment at a major research university

    •Experience teaching in a major research university

    •Demonstrated ability to inspire and lead faculty

    •An understanding of assessment practices that recognize and reduce bias

    •Excellent writing and presentation skills
