    PATH is a global nonprofit dedicated to achieving health equity. With more than 40 years of experience forging multisector partnerships, and with expertise in science, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales up innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing health challenges.

     

    The Medical Devices and Health Technologies Program at PATH develops, advances, and facilitates commercialization of health technologies for low-resource settings. PATH teams conduct collaborative research and development with universities, manufacturers, and other institutions to develop products that are appropriate and affordable for developing-country use.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform sample and reagent preparations following known procedures and conduct routine testing under the direction of senior colleagues in the lab.

    • Perform high performance chromatographic analysis (HPLC), following known procedures and under the direction of supervisor or senior colleagues in the lab.

    • Record and maintain results in an electronic laboratory notebook.

    • Analyze data with input from the supervisor or colleagues and provide results to team at regular intervals.

    • Conduct literature searches as needed and assist in manuscript preparation.

    • Present results at team meetings.

    • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment under supervision.

    Required Skills Required Experience

     

    • BS in analytical chemistry, or biochemistry, with 1-3 years laboratory experience in basic research or pharmaceutical industry.

    • Hands-on laboratory experience in wet chemistry and instrumental analytical techniques preferably chromatographic methods.

    • Experience with solubilization approaches for preparation of various liquid formulations as colloids, suspensions, emulsions.

    • Working knowledge of particle size measurement, light scattering, calorimetry, UV vis and fluorescence.

    • Working knowledge with data organization, analysis, and graphics software packages.

    • Attention to detail and efficient time management skills.

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

     

    REMOTE WORK:

    PATH continues to evolve to support our employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, most of PATH’s US based positions are temporarily 100% remote, within commuting distance to our PATH offices. When PATH transitions more broadly to in-person work, we will operate with a hybrid workplace model. Hybrid employees must reside within commuting distance to one of our PATH offices. PATH’s US offices are located in Seattle, WA and Washington, D.C.

     

    COVID-19 VACCINE REQUIREMENT:

    PATH has instituted a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for all employees, interns, consultants, and temporary staff based in the United States. Individuals selected for job opportunities in the United States must be fully vaccinated, and show proof of vaccination status, upon hire. Individuals are considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as Pfizer or Moderna, or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson.   • Qualifications
    • Bachelor Degree in the Health Professions, Public Health, Business Administration or similar; Graduate degree a plus
    • Administrative management work experience in a service industry managing the day to day operations of a significant program or working as a Program Manager in a non-academic setting such as a HealthCare environment. Must have some grant management experience
    • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and spoken.
    • Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills that include Excel, Word and Powerpoint and databases.
