  • Responsibilities

    Directs the activities of the 3rd shift employees, PSSI Sanitation Contractor with site manager, OSI sanitation supervisor, 3rd shift maintenance supervisor or his designated replacement and production employees that are still working after 2nd shift supervisors complete their day.

    • Supervises activities of the assigned departmental supervisors. •
    • Directs supervisors with respect to sanitation, production and mechanical issues
    • Stimulates maximum efficiency and productivity of supervisors, sanitation employees and production workers.
    • Confers with Division manager on all issues, sanitation activities above the normal procedures, any USDA issues that are brought up and mechanical issues that will affect start up.
    •  Actively support the total compliance of company policies by verifying they are communicated, understood, followed and verified.  This includes safety, quality, GMP’s, work rules, HACCP, SSOP’s,and human resources.
    • Assures that machinery, equipment and facilities are properly cleaned, sanitized and maintained for efficient production.
    • Maintains good employee relations takes proper and judicious disciplinary measures when required.
    • Assures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvements of methods and elimination of wasteful practices within the departments.
    • Maintain master cleaning schedule to ensure 100% compliance by month on deep cleans in departments. All yearly, quarterly, monthly and weekly cleanings are assigned and verified.  
    • Work with PSSI Tech Service rep to ensure written SOP’s are correct for each department.
    • Perform other duties as required or directed.

    Required Skills

    • Five to eight years of directly related experience, with at least two (2) years’ experience as a supervisor. •
    • Judgement and Courage to act
    • Planning and Organization skills
    • Developing subordinates
    • Strong communication – oral and written
    • Ability to work under pressure, motivate employees and provide drive and initiative. 
    • High School graduate or equivalent with additional college level courses in management subjects desirable.
    • Position requires the physical agility to perform continuous lifting up to 30 pounds, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls and standing/walking on concrete flooring.
    •  Work can be performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people and conveyor. 
    • Position requires the physical ability to stand/walk for duration of required work hours.
