The Executive Director of Business Development is charged with driving corporate revenue across the WBUR portfolio of assets including: On air, digital verticals, audio and text, events, podcasts, custom content, integrated solutions, and new revenue streams leveraging new products. As WBUR pivots to leverage and monetize its full portfolio of assets, the Executive Director of Business Development will play a leading and strategic role, partnering with WBURs CEO and the leadership team to reimagine the total WBUR value proposition and go-to-market strategy. This person will be a member of the WBUR Senior Leadership team and report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. We are looking for an energetic, strategic and creative marketer who also has experience leading a seasoned sales team. The right candidate will have a track record building high level client relationships and a reputation for building big, creative ideas that have helped clients drive reputation and business outcomes. This person will understand the dynamics and needs of an award-winning high profile editorial organization and be able to build trust and collaboration internally at every level. Part entrepreneur and part team builder, this leader grasps the basic values of public media but can help us remake our offering into a modern, creative, digital first, world class media and sponsorship organization. Inspiring and collaborative leadership, strategic and creative thinking, and the ability to re-imagine the WBUR value proposition are all key characteristics of this role, as well as proven success in transforming sales and marketing teams to achieve ambitious growth goals. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to identify sponsorship opportunities across multiple business verticals, develop unique and custom integrated programs, ensure the creation of long term client partnerships, and manage a full sales team.
