    OVERVIEW: Management Science Associates, Inc. (MSA) is a diversified information management company that for over half a century has given market leaders the competitive edge in data management, analytics and technology. We are seeking a Software Engineer (all levels) to join the MSA Media division which has been offering client-focused technology and analytic solutions to the media/cable television industry since the early 1980s.

     

    MSA’s Media Division is responsible for providing leading edge software, analytics, and consulting services to industry leading advertisers, agencies, cable networks, and other emerging industry players. MSA is at the forefront of determining how consumers access content such as news, sports, and entertainment, how such content is distributed, and how content providers and advertisers can better estimate and target their intended audiences. In 2015, MSA received an Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for its history of innovation in the cable television industry.  

     

    We are currently seeking a full-time Software Engineer who can analyze business and technical challenges, develop innovative solutions, and effectively implement them. Strong abstract and conceptual thinking, proven solution development experience, along with strong programing and mathematical ability are critical aspects of this role. The candidate must thrive in a fast-paced team environment, where ideas are challenged, debated, and refined, in order to provide the best solutions for the market place.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Apply a strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms to existing applications in .NET Framework and/or C/C++
    • Use scientific programming methods to solve unique computational problems
    • Use a diverse mathematical toolkit to formulate and update analytical models
    • Conduct statistical analysis on large data sets
    • Participate in code reviews and write comprehensive unit tests
    • Work closely with Engineers, Business Analysis, Quality Assurance, and Product support
    • Communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
    • Enhance one’s domain knowledge, technology, and interpersonal skills

    Required Skills

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Requires a four-year degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or other related quantitative discipline. PhD or Masters preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years practical experience writing computational software
    • Familiarity with systems architecture and design patterns
    • Qualified candidates will have previous development experience with C#, Java, C/C++, or other Objected Oriented language
    • Linux OS and shell scripting
    • Understanding of relational databases and SQL
    • Works Independently on all SDLC phases
    • Familiarity and experience with MSA's core competencies: Data Management, Information Technology and Analytics
    • Able to perform under pressure in a rapidly-evolving industry
