  • Responsibilities

    The Grant Manager will oversee the post-award portfolio management activities for the department/unit.  This includes complex financial management and analysis, compliance with University policy and sponsor’s terms and conditions and reporting.  Portfolios consist primarily of sponsored research but include other sources of funds including gifts and start-up accounts.

     

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Conduct monthly detailed analysis of portfolios and provide individual consulting to faculty PIs. Interpret complex terms and conditions and apply understanding of federal regulations.
    • Proactively establish relationships with Principal Investigators and their research staff; maintain effective communications; and protect confidential information. Work to anticipate changes in future funding of portfolio and provide sound advice to clients.
    • Work closely with the Principal Investigator and Office of Sponsored Programs, to review new awards, set up budgets, and provide guidance on policy, and to communicate with funding agencies. Ensure reports are completed per Sponsor requirements: monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annually.
    • Wok with faculty and research teams to ensure proper account coding and approval of financial transactions. Review invoices against budget and ensure all expenses are consistent with work performed to date.
    • Works closely with SPH Director of Sponsored Research in implementing best practices as it relates to post award grant management. Provide superior customer service.

    Required Skills

    Bachelor’s Degree

    3-5 years of experience
