  • Responsibilities

    The BU School of Public Health (SPH) is looking for a highly motivated, results-driven candidate in the Community Health Science Department. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the H2GO! Project Manager will be responsible for managing intervention and evaluation activities for a large multi-site community-based randomized controlled trial. This NIH-funded study will test a youth empowerment intervention targeting sugary drink intake and childhood obesity risk across ten Boys and Girls Clubs throughout the Commonwealth. The Project Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the project and will serve as the liaison between the project and the study sites, establishing close working relationships with Boys and Girls Club staff at each site, including training, supervising, and supporting Boys and Girls Club staff responsible for intervention delivery. The Project Manager will also be responsible for directing data collection, recruitment, and retention activities, including training and supervising research staff (such as research assistants and MCH research fellows) to assure adherence to study protocols.

    Required Skills

    Responsibilities include:

    Project Management and Implementation

    • Master’s degree and 3-5 years’ experience.
    • Meet regularly with and report to the Principal Investigator.
    • Work with the study team to develop protocols, intervention materials, and facilitate trainings.
    • Work with the research team to facilitate & ensure protocol adherence and quality assurance activities to achieve study goals.
    • Plan agenda, facilitate, and lead weekly team meetings and ensure that minutes are taken, edited and distributed.
    • Collaborate with research team to develop presentations, abstracts and manuscripts for submission to national conferences and scholarly journals.

    Personnel Management

    • Responsible for hiring and supervising research support staff. Complete performance evaluations.
    • Schedule and facilitate regular staff meetings.

    Grant Management

    • Oversee project fiscal management (e.g., monitoring expenses, facilitating contracts, ordering materials).
