    Interactive Design is a piece of Boston Universitys award-winning Creative Services group. Nestled within the department of Marketing & Communications on West Campus, the ID team is always bustling with innovative designers, wicked smart developers, and colorful copywriters, all of whom have a deep knowledge and passion for BU culture. If youre passionate, conscientious and love to develop, test, & launch interactive projects from large websites to editorial stories to mobile applications, this is a place for you. Youll work closely with a team of project managers, designers, and developers while ensuring the project meets high standards of quality and addresses the clients strategic goals. All while being around some really nice people. What you'll do: Youll work on developing interactive projects of many different sizes and complexities. For some of our largest, and most immersive projects youll participate in creating great sites like the Undergraduate Admissions website, The Howard Thurman Center, or even some of our most strategically important websites. Build reusable code and libraries for future use Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders Maintain a state-of-the-art understanding of current and emerging tools and technology Be a great developer, while still having a life beyond the office

    Required Skills

    What you'll have: B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience 3-5 years of professional web development experience Ability to write vanilla JavaScript Strong understanding of HTML5 and CSS3 Good understanding of WordPress Good understanding of JavaScript Libraries such as Angular, Backbone, or React. Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX A desire to learn about Gutenberg and building custom Blocks using React. Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around such issues Familiarity with front-end build tools, such as Grunt. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git Good understanding of browser rendering behavior and performance Interpersonal skills: Ability to manage several projects simultaneously with limited supervision. Ability to work on teams with colleagues from several BU departments/organizations.
