    Join our expanding Injury Prevention Team as an Injury Prevention Professional at our client site in Greenville, SC.  You will provide exercise supervision, interact with participants, and deliver health, fitness and preventive programs and services, promotions and outreach activities.   You will also lead group conditioning classes; conduct fitness assessments, writes exercise programs, and give exercise orientations; and provide fitness floor coverage and facility oversight. This position may also assist with or coordinate various health and fitness program offerings including return-to-work conditioning programs focused primarily on the prevention of work related injuries.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:             

    • Conducts employee injury prevention programs, education and training.
    • Supervises facility; interacts with participants and monitors equipment and participant safety.
    • Develops exercise programs specific to injury prevention and conditioning needs.
    • Provides individual and group exercise instruction; educates participants on proper techniques to maximize exercise safety and effectiveness. 
    • Coordinates and leads a variety of HealthFitness and program-specific health improvement programs & promotions. 
    • Perform initial screening to confirm that the employee is an appropriate candidate for Ergonomic Education and advise employee’s supervisor if Contractor believes further evaluation by appropriate medical personnel is required in connection with an injury believed to have been suffered or otherwise caused in the course of work/while employee is on duty.
    • Provide prompt documentation of employee consults to the employee’s supervisor, and appropriate personnel in EH&S unless otherwise required by such supervisor.
    • Provide Ergonomic Education services to Company employees reporting musculoskeletal pain or discomfort.
    • Present educational sessions to departments.
    • Conduct office ergonomic evaluations (risk assessments) and document recommendations using Contractor tools and forms.
    • Assist with advertising and promoting the Ergonomic Education process through the use of pamphlets, posters, social media and the like, as requested by Company. Company retains the right to manage and regulate use of its name, logo, trademark, and any other intellectual property.
    • Other duties as needed/assigned.

     

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS: 

    REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, or Exercise Science or other related field.
    • 1+ years directly related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute (if not current will need to obtain within 30 days of hire).
    • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.
    • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including at minimum Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands including project coordination.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative and creativity.

    PREFERRED:

    • Understanding of Biomechanics.
    • Understanding of Occupational Safety.
    • Personal Training certification from ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NASM or NSCA (will be required within 30 days of hire).
    • Work experience in a clinical environment (occupational therapy, physical therapy, cardiac rehab, nursing).
    • 2+ years experience in corporate based health and fitness program.
    • Proficient in fitness assessments and exercise prescription.

  • Qualifications

    Candidates must have an earned doctoral degree, current certification as an occupational therapist, and eligibility for Massachusetts licensure. A minimum of four years of experience in any area of occupational therapy is required. The ideal candidate will have experience with teaching either in an academic or practice setting and will have an established program of scholarship.
