  • Responsibilities

    The Lab of Jerry Chen at Boston University is hiring a Senior Research Technician to help carry out and support research activities in the laboratory. This individual will primarily be responsible for carrying out rodent behavior experiments. In addition, he/she will perform experiments involving rodent surgery, molecular biology, brain histology, and data analysis. Individual will also be involved in basic lab maintenance such as cleaning, maintaining supplies and reagents, and rodent care. Our projects focus on understanding cortical computation during behavior by combining large-scale population recordings, anatomical reconstructions, and transcriptional profiling as well as developing tools for large-scale and high-speed imaging of neuronal populations. Our lab is located on the Charles River Campus and is affiliated with the Department of Biology and Department of Biomedical Engineering. We have active collaborations and interactions with labs in the greater neuroscience community in the Boston area including the Center for Systems Neuroscience and Center for Neurophotonics at Boston University as well as Harvard Medical School and MIT.

    Required Skills

    A BA in neuroscience, molecular biology, or bioengineering is required. Previous lab experience working with rodents is preferred.
