  • Responsibilities

    The Senior News Writer, ATC, is a permanent full-time position responsible for writing local newscasts during All Things Considered as assigned by the ATC Senior Producer. The Senior News Writer is also responsible for conducting telephone interviews and editing audio tape for newscasts, providing story ideas and follow up suggestions on a daily basis, as well as assigning and overseeing the work of other newscast staff and interns throughout the shift. This position is also responsible for production of newscasts weekdays between 1PM and 7PM. The Senior News Writer is responsible for writing newscast stories for other dayparts including the late evening and early morning, and responsible for assisting with production of All Things Considered interviews, and other aspects of the show as assigned. This position will work closely with our digital staff -- editors and producers -- to create content for wbur.org and other digital platforms. The Senior News Writer assists in the training and supervision of news interns.

    Required Skills

    Bachelor's degree required with at least three to five years of related work experience.
