  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY Under direct supervision performs basic purchasing and record keeping duties for facility production equipment and services for daily maintenance activities. Provide additional support functions for Maintenance Department operation as directed. MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (i.e., Policies, procedures, etc. for which you are responsible.)

    • Learn and become proficient in CMMS program used by Maintenance Department for purchasing, inventory control, work order and preventive maintenance functions.

    • Place orders for maintenance parts, supplies and contract work; includes obtaining prices, scheduling deliveries and writing purchase orders. Follow- up with vendors as necessary to ensure that parts are available to meet production needs.

    • Maintain hard copy files containing purchase orders and receiving documentation for reference and receipt of goods verification.

    • Review invoices for accuracy of price and quantity as compared to purchase orders and route for approval and payment within payment timelines. Retain documents in compliance with organization’s record retention policy.

    • Record all work done by the maintenance department with regards to preventative maintenance schedules, equipment repair, building maintenance, and special projects. Enter, update and close out work orders within the asset management system; prepare reports as required.

    • Comply with established employment, safety, good manufacturing practices, quality, and other facility workplace policies and procedures.

    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

    • High school diploma or equivalent reading, writing, verbal and mathematics skills. 0-2 years experience working in a manufacturing facility’s maintenance department.  Ability to work with a personal computer and accurately enter data into spreadsheets or functional specific software.

  • Qualifications

    Candidates must have demonstrated expertise in the application of quantitative methods in business obtained through some combination of academic work and business experience. A Ph.D. in a field related to the use of quantitative methods in business is desirable, but we will consider candidates with at least a bachelors degrees that can demonstrate sufficient expertise learned through experience applying quantitative tools in business. Experience with and mastery of Python or R, preferably both, is a requirement. Because we expect Questrom students to master the use of Excel, strong Excel skills are also essential. Teaching experience is desirable, but we will consider candidates who have not taught previously.
