Counselor - Campus Assistance Program -Position Details Expiration Date 10/22/2018 Department Campus Assistance Program Position Type Professional Location New Orleans Description The function of the Campus Assistance Program (CAP) Counselor is to support the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of students, faculty, staff, residents and their immediate family members in order to promote the overall health and effectiveness of the LSUHSCNO community. Qualifications -Master Degree in Social Work -LCSW in the state of Louisiana -Two (2) years experience Must have a working knowledge of the DMS 5, complete psycho-social history's and knowledgeable of substance abuse Preferred Qualifications -Employee Assistance Program knowledge and experience -Case management skills, crisis intervention, substance use disorders -Knowledgeable of Microsoft and computer functions Additional Position Information The Campus Assistance Program (CAP) counselor is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, working in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team who will provide employee assistance and occupational mental health and prevention services to the population served by the LSUHSC CAP. Under the supervision of the CAP Assistant Director, the CAP counselor will be responsible for providing mental health crisis intervention, assessment, brief short-term counseling, case management, drug testing services, monitoring and reporting. -Provide on-call services for the CAP contracts -Responsible for providing direct CAP clinical intake, assessments, evaluations, brief short-term counseling, referral services and case management services for all LSUHSC employees, residents, students and immediate family members -Responsible for providing Campus Assistance Program primary prevention services such as Drug Free Workplace training, Drug Free Schools and Community prevention activities and the Peer Advocate Liaison Program. -Provide employee, resident, student and supervisory training and orientations. -Assist in the functions and operations of the Peer Advocate Liaison program and prevention activities. -As a member of rotating CAP staff on-call Schedule, respond to ISP responses from students, residents, faculty and employees in a timely manner (within 24 hours) and maintain any dialogue as needed. -Travel to other LSUHSC sites (Baton Rouge, Bogalusa, and Lafayette) as needed to provide CAP services. -Assist in the coordination and training of the PALs orientation and annual resource fair. -Assist with the daily functions of the Peer Advocate Liaison Program and prevention activities. -Assist in coordinating prevention and training activities for the PALs program. -Provide on call services -Provide direct alcohol and drug testing collections as needed -Act as a backup in the day to day operation and management of all post job offer, random, after care monitoring and case management drug testing services -Assist in program development and maintenance of billing and filing systems for CAP, clinical and drug testing services. -Provide direct clinical services for professionals with substance use disorders -Serve as a liaison between the health care professionals and their respective professional licensing boards About the School The LSUHSC Campus Assistance Program is an internal Employee Assistance Program for LSUHSC - New Orleans. Basic responsibilities includes brief short-term counseling, perform problem assessments, crisis intervention, maintaining a 24 hour crisis line, and provide referral services.
