    Job Description

    The Laboratory of Cancer Immunology in the Department of Biological Sciences is seeking a skilled and motivated Biology Laboratory Manager to support research efforts aimed at improving the understanding and treatment of cancer.

    This role is ideal for a candidate with strong technical expertise in biological sciences and an interest in contributing to impactful cancer research through both benchwork and lab management.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Research Support

    • Conduct experiments using a range of techniques including PCR, gel electrophoresis, cell culture, immunology assays, animal models, and clinical sample testing.
    • Collaborate closely with other researchers on ongoing projects, contributing to data analysis and experimental design.
    • Support the preparation of research materials for publications and co-author scholarly articles.

    **Lab Operations & Administration **

    • Order, track, and manage research supplies and reagents.
    • Communicate with vendors and maintain inventory records.
    • Ensure adherence to lab safety guidelines and institutional protocols, including animal care and use.
    • Assist in preparing and updating required documentation for compliance.
    • Help organize lab events and team-building activities to support a positive and collaborative lab culture.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
    • 3–4 years of experience working in a biology or biomedical research laboratory.
    • Proficiency in core laboratory techniques including PCR, electrophoresis, cell culture, and immunoassays.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Knowledge of cancer biology and laboratory best practices.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in cancer immunology research.
    • Familiarity with animal handling protocols and clinical sample testing.
    • Experience with laboratory compliance systems and managing lab safety protocols.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
