  • Responsibilities

    The main responsibilities of this position include serving as a liaison for outreach and engagement with the sponsors of clinical and translational research. Under the supervision of the Office for Research and Innovation, the person will coordinate with the Institutional Advancement division of the College to pursue a financially self-sustaining model for the Clinical and Translational Research Center of Excellence. The person will also coordinate with the relevant medical directors, community physicians, and faculty members college-wide interested in specific trials. The person will also assess prospective trials and their protocol-specific requirements to determine the investigators’ interest and feasibility with the site and trial portfolio. The person will also develop a budget for prospective trials. The person working under minimal supervision will identify public and private funding sources, review sponsor regulations, and participate in negotiations with the funding sponsors. The person will coordinate the pre-award process for clinical and translational research projects in compliance with federal regulations, facilitate confidentiality disclosure agreements, complete clinical trial feasibility questionnaires, and coordinate pre-study sponsor visits. Upon site selection, the person will oversee the regulatory affairs document approval and prepare for the site initiation visit. This person will perform related and occasionally other duties as assigned.

    • Serve as a primary liaison for outreach and engagement with the sponsors of clinical and translational research to pursue a financially self-sustaining model for the Clinical and Translational Research Center of Excellence.
    • Under minimal supervision, analyzes protocol-specific requirements to determine PI interest and compatibility with site and trial portfolio, coordinates the pre-award process for clinical and translational research projects in compliance with federal regulations.
    • Facilitate confidentiality disclosure agreement execution, complete clinical trial feasibility questionnaires, and coordinate pre-study visit.
    • Upon site selection, oversee budget execution, regulatory affairs document approval and site initiation visit.
    • Provide support to Principal Investigators; communicate weekly updates to PI and sponsors
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Required Skills

    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with the full suite of Microsoft office products
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Self-motivated, organized, and flexible
    • Able to work independently when required

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, public health, community health, or related scientific field is required with one year of experience. Master’s degree preferred
