    HealthFitness has a great opportunity for a hybrid HEALTH PROMOTION SPECIALIST at our client site located in THOUSAND OAKS, CA. In this position, you will be responsible for providing health education to members and program participants, and delivering health and fitness programs and services, promotions and outreach activities. You will instruct lunch and learns; provide weight management training; organize events and promote healthy living. You will also assist with and coordinate various wellness and fitness program offerings.

    SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday hours, hybrid (remote, though with regular ability to work on campus in Thousand Oaks, CA)

     

    YOUR IMPACT:

    • Coordinate and/or assist in planning wellness sponsored events through collaboration with HealthFitness internal partners as well as third party vendors.
    • Provide administrative support for wellness programming and to the key influencers amongst the client staff throughout the Program Year; collaborate and develop strategic solutions in partnership with Program Manager to drive engagement and meet client expectations.
    • Create monthly content for existing standard communications. (Programs, challenges, series, on-site events as well as newsletters, articles, recipes, health observances, etc.).
    • Conduct wellness briefs, if feasible and actively pursue opportunities to conduct more wellness briefs.
    • Support ongoing development, implementation and maintenance of health-related programs.
    • Assist with coordination of weight management programs (either internal to HealthFitness or in support of any vendors the client may utilize) for employees as necessary.
    • Assist with site and community events such as American Heart Walk, United Way, Relay for Life, and Blood Drive.
    • Coordinate Lunch N Learns facilitated by outside speakers, when timely and appropriate.
    • Coordinate onsite biometric screenings as applicable.
    • Maintain accurate and up to date member files and program participation records.
    • Other duties as needed/assigned.

     

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion, Public Health or a related field. 
    • CPR/AED certification from American Red Cross, American Heart Association or American Safety & Health Institute required within 90 days of hire.
    • Two+ years of industry experience; including 1+ years’ experience in delivery of corporate-based wellness and/or fitness programs required.
    • CHES certification preferred.
    • Experience engaging a remote and diverse workforce preferred. 
    • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and customer service skills including the ability to collaborate with multiple internal partners and comfortable speaking to small and large groups. 
    • Ability to work effectively with all levels of individuals both within HealthFitness and the client organization.
    • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.
    • Computer proficiency in MS Office including at minimum Word, Excel, Outlook, and Publisher as well as familiarity with SharePoint. Excel proficiency highly preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience in the areas of program development and implementation, data collection and analysis and outcomes reporting.
