    Job Description

    At the heart of Notre Dame’s academic core, the Hesburgh Library continues to evolve as a dynamic hub for knowledge, discovery, and innovation. As we build on a legacy of excellence and embrace a bold vision for the future, we are seeking a Library Application Management and Integration Specialist to help us shape the next era of research and learning.

    Among other projects, we are replacing our current Integrated Library System (ILS) and adopting an open-source, cloud-based solution. The LAM & Integration Specialist will be a key player in ensuring that we successfully integrate this new system with other library applications and external campus and vendor systems.

    With a primary focus on back-of-the-house operations, you will:

    • Proactively manage a wide range of core library applications, both patron and staff-facing, such as the Integrated Library System, Discovery, Inventory Management, or Archival Management systems
    • Automate workflows, configure and upgrade systems, extract data, and generate reports
    • Manage and configure core library applications from the unit portfolio, such as the Integrated Library System, Discovery, Inventory Management, or Archival Management systems
    • Assess needs, identify solutions, consult on workflow, manage project tasks and documentation in collaboration with product owners, stakeholders, quality assurance and other IT staff
    • Write automation programming, work with APIs, write SQL queries, and work in the command line interface

    Please note: This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule (1-2 days remote)

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Self-directed and capable of taking general guidance in day to day work.
    • API experience, particularly with consuming APIs
    • Experience with Scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or TypeScript
    • Ability to work in the United States without visa sponsorship, now or in the future

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working in an academic library setting
    • Library metadata knowledge
    • Experience supporting projects or applications related to Purchasing or Finance (accounts payable, invoices)

    Salary Range: $68,000 - $80,000
