  • Responsibilities

    Performs a variety of tasks associated with campus maintenance and operations that include locksmith and craftsman services.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Maintains records of campus keys, cores, and various other door related hardware.
    • Maintains electronic access control systems.
    • Crafts keys and locks for buildings and personnel.
    • Maintains door and hardware of the college.
    • Maintains padlocks and digital code locks.
    • Issues keys and codes to personnel.
    • Responds to work orders as needed.
    • Orders locksmith supplies and equipment.
    • Changes and repairs locks and doors as needed.

    UNIQUE FUNCTIONS

    • The workload of the Locksmith varies. Work orders and project assignments are intermittent. The successful applicant must be willing to assist other Maintenance department personnel as the Locksmith workload permits.
    • Must have desire and ability to learn new skills and become proficient with emerging technology. The College is upgrading to electronic access control systems with integrated security cameras. Ability to use associated software and troubleshoot and repair low-voltage wiring is critical.

    SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED

    • Must be able to work without supervision to accomplish assigned duties.
    • Must be able to communicate orally with and get along with students, staff, faculty and the public.
    • Must have safety as a primary concern and exhibit safe working habits at all times.
    • Must have desire to learn and ability to participate in and understand training.

    TECHNICAL EXPERTISE REQUIRED

    • Previous knowledge of lock and key craftsmanship is preferred

    EDUCATION / TRAINING REQUIRED

    • Must have skills typically acquired through completion of high school education.
    • Must possess current driver’s license valid in the state of Idaho.

    WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS

    • 40 hours per week – schedule may include some evening, weekend, and on-call duties as assigned by supervisor.
    • Outdoors. All weather conditions. Varying conditions including hot, cold, noisy, and dirty conditions.

  • Qualifications

    Minimum:
    • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • 5+ years medical device experience including at least 3 years in Quality Management Systems.
    • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with FDA QSR/QMSR, ISO 13485, EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR), and other national and international regulations (Canada, Japan, China, Brazil, etc.).
    • Able to build relationships and work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization in a collaborative and congenial manner.
    • Ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas both verbally and in writing.
    • Proven organizational skills, planning skills and ability to work effectively within teams
    • Proven ability to take initiative and ownership in order to move projects or tasks forward to completion
    • Ability to shift priorities based on the current business needs and to make progress on multiple, concurrent projects.
    • Independent decision-making and problem-solving skills; ability to analyze information, evaluate results and choose the best solution.

    Preferred:
    • ISO 13485 Lead Auditor certification
    • Experience with EU MDR assessment and implementation
    • Experience supporting field action activities

    Other:
    • Mental demands – work is detail oriented, often with multiple priorities. The environment is deadline sensitive and may be exposed to high-pressure situations.
    • Hybrid role – this position requires in-office attendance for at least two days each week
    • Travel requirements are moderate. Travel to domestic facilities would be about 2 – 3 days duration each trip, and travel to international facilities would be a week. Total travel expected to be 10% - 15%.

    **Compensation & Total Rewards: **

    Estimated Starting Salary Range: $116,000.00 – $126,000.00
