Position Summary: _ _ Under general supervision, performs a variety of maintenance services, repairs, and installations on college facilities and equipment for HVAC systems._ Job Functions:_ 1. Performs preventive and corrective maintenance and general maintenance and installation of HVAC systems, as well as miscellaneous repairs to equipment and devices 2. Assist other HVAC staff with the performance of their duties as needed 3. Keeps shop and mechanical areas neat and clean 4. Drives LSC vehicle for purpose of transporting equipment 5. Records daily maintenance activities log and produces periodic reports 6. Assists in annual inventory of maintenance department 7. Actively follows college, state, and federal guidelines regarding safety 8. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: * Ability to understand and follow directions given orally and in writing * Ability to read and understand blue prints Physical Abilities: * Capable of safely operating powered equipment, such as: saws, drills, and sanders, brush hog, tractor and be able to determine which equipment to use for a particular purpose * Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling * Picking, holding, or otherwise working, primarily with the whole hand * Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body * Ability to perform labor intensive work associated with facilities maintenance * Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discrimination in sound * Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
