  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Major responsibility is to assist with maintaining order and a safe environment in the clubhouse and on the surrounding property.  Supervise front desk area and manage flow of traffic in and out of the building.

     

     

    Required Skills

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist in directing members to the appropriate program areas preventing loitering in the hallway and lobby.
    • Ensure that all members entering the building are signing in and that attendance information is properly stored in the membership database.
    • Receive and transfer all in-coming telephone calls to the club; take accurate messages when necessary.
    • Instruct members to comply with club rules.
    • Maintain general oversight on the outside of the club for any unsafe or unsavory activities (requires walking around the building).
    • Patrol assigned areas on foot, checking for fires, vandalism, suspicious activity or persons or safety/fire hazards in and around the Club. Report any unsafe areas or
    • Investigates and/or reports hazards, unusual or suspicious circumstances to Club Director and law enforcement as necessary
    • Work directly with Club and Program Director in the areas of protocol, special events, and overall security policies and procedures at the club.
    • Manage the traffic and drop off of members from school and public buses, and private vehicles.
    • Assist with management and coordination of dismissal for members, and ensure that members are leaving with the appropriate adult.
    • Close and lock all doors and windows and ensure the entire building is closed/locked up each night.
    • Assist with transportation needs of the building (transporting members, errands determined by director)
    • Participate in individual and group supervision sessions; participate in professional development opportunities as appropriate; participate in staff meetings.
    • Assessing our impact is critical to our work. All staff is expected to participate in various evaluation efforts throughout each program year, including the annual member survey.
    • Attend community safety meetings as requested.
    • Travel between sites and to activities as needed.
    • Other related duties as specified by the Club Director.

    Required Experience

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, WORK DEMAND            ):

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Experience working with children and youth, knowledge of youth development principles.
    • Experience working within outreach, public safety, or the equivalent fields preferred.
    • Experience in customer service/relations and/or recreation a plus.
    • Must be or become CPR / FA certified.
    • Ability to work with youth and families from a variety of backgrounds.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Flexibility to work clubhouse hours as seasons and service needs change (including weekends)
    • Valid driver’s license required.
