    JOB TITLE: Front Counter Assistant Work-Study

     

     

    DEPARTMENT: EASS/ORR

     

     

    PAY RATE: $12.85 per hour 

     

     

    NUMBER OF OPENINGS: 4

     

     

    Fall and Spring Semesters 

     

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • • Interact with various college constituents in a front desk area setting. • Assist with all admissions and registration related inquires while upholding the highest level of customer service. • Communicate with students directly regarding missing requirements for in-state tuition; status of application, and other questions. • Assist staff members on various projects (mass mailings, records update/correction, etc.) in a timely manner with high accuracy. • Troubleshoot student problem with the registration system. • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

     

    •  Must be a current student of the Community College of Denver, taking at least six hours of credit and awarded work-study funds.

    • • Staff are expected to maintain their work schedule and follow all time and attendance procedures and notify their supervisor immediately in the event of a schedule change. • Staff are expected to demonstrate honesty and integrity at all times. • Diligence is required to complete many tasks in a timely manner. • Staff members are expected to take the initiative to better understand their assignments and tasks. Ask questions. • Staff are expected to bring any issues with Banner or other office technology issues to the attention of their supervisor immediately so it can be addressed as promptly as possible.

    TIME COMMITMENT

     

    20 hours a week (may not exceed 20 hours per week)

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications
    • Ability to read complex electrical/mechanical drawings. 
    • Proficient computer skills.
    • Available to work 2nd shift, M-F, 3:30 p.m. – Midnight (must be available day shift for initial training).
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to complete appropriate documentation when needed. 
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to operate a fork lift, cleaning equipment, crane, drill press, lathe, grinder, and various power tools.
    • Ability to use precision measuring tools and testing equipment.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
