The World Languages department is looking for an American Sign Language Tutor to assist students with homework by explaining grammatical concepts and providing conversational practice.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate a regular time to meet with students.
- Meets appointments faithfully.
- Provide student with helpful materials (consult with supervisor).
- Use the target language as much as possible in conversation and explanation of grammar.
Required Skills
Must have excellent communication skills, and be able and willing to take directions.
Required Experience
- Completed the 202 level in the language, have taken an advanced course or courses in the language’s grammar, and have a solid grasp of morphosyntaxis and orthography in the language through the level in which s/he is tutoring.
- Minimum of one quarter or semester of successful tutoring at the academy/high school/college level.
- Must be a current La Sierra University student.
