    Technical Coordinator, Michigan Apprenticeship Program Plus- Temporary Part-Time Grant Funded (ends 9/30/2020) Posting Details Position Information Job Title Technical Coordinator, Michigan Apprenticeship Program Plus- Temporary Part-Time Grant Funded (ends 9/30/2020) Bargaining Unit PT AFSCME 975 (2172.16) Assignment Location South Campus Job Function Macomb Community College is the lead institution for a Department of Labor American Apprenticeship Initiative grant focusing on the Manufacturing sector entitled Michigan Apprenticeship Program Plus (MAP+). This position is specific to the MAP+ providing technical support and coordination for activities and events. Essential Duties Summary Provide technical support and coordination for MAP+ activities, including but not limited to: o Coordinating and creating all program recruitment and outreach materials for MAP+ with Macombs Marketing department o Assembling materials for MAP+ student and employer events o Managing student recruitment and enrollment processes o Managing student communications o Assisting with first day activities and other program arrangements as necessary o Tracking all activities, including budget, for ensuring on-time delivery and recommending program and administration improvements o Registering students, parents, and employers at MAP+ events o Scheduling and tracking all assessment and testing for students, etc. o Providing assistance and status updates in the MAP+ application and/or College admissions process o Creating, maintaining and auditing participant files for accuracy and completeness according to grant guidelines o Assisting with tracking students using internal and grant directed government system o Drafting letter and distributing MAP+ pre-apprentice student certificates of completion o Assisting in activities to increase the number of participants served o Scheduling MAP+ pilot employer site visits and assist coordinators with activities related to site visits Manage MAP+ event planning including arrangements for facilities, equipment, food, logistics, invitations, enrollment, etc., in collaboration with other schools and businesses Track and order supplies Assist program manager and program coordinator; may speak for and represent the MAP+ as assigned May research departmental issues Perform related duties as assigned SUPERVISION RECEIVED : Reports to the Program Manager, MAP+ grant. May take direction from other full or part-time staff as assigned. SUPERVISION GIVEN : none Education Associates degree. Minimum two years related work experience. Preliminary Qualifications KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Excellent oral and written communication skills required to communicate effectively with representatives of other educational institutions, industry, government agencies, as well as Macomb faculty and students. High degree of accuracy required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint applications. Must be able to multi-task, have strong analytical, planning and organizing skills, and work as a team member. WORKING CONDITIONS : Normal office conditions. May travel off campus. Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands Work Hours Hours to be scheduled by the department as needed but not to exceed 30 hours per week.
