Job / Project Description Magic Leap Inc. is seeking a Mechanical, Optical, or Systems Engineering Intern to work on the following project. The intern will be responsible for the design and execution of a test comparing two or more defect detection techniques for use with manufacturing materials and processes. The intern will begin by gathering test requirements from the ME, SW, and process teams. The intern will then collaborate with leaders in the engineering organization to develop and execute the test plan with regular status updates to a large multi-disciplined team. The test plan will need to evaluate the alternatives based on resolution, reliability, speed, and scalability. At the end of the internship, a recommendation will be made to the Engineering and Process Teams. Qualifications / Skills Experience running mechanical, electrical, or optical system tests Ability to design experiments, maintain data integrity, and clearly present results Ability to understand basic mechanics, optics, and signal processing Organization and motivation; needs to independently secure help from senior team members SW scripting languages (e.g. Python) a plus Education Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior in an Engineering program with at least a 3.6GPA.
