  • Responsibilities

    Responsible for general maintenance and upkeep of college apartment buildings and grounds.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Maintains and inventories supplies for the Northview and Eagle View Apartments complexes. This involves accounting for tools and parts, as well as keeping supplies organized and functional.
    • Performs all general maintenance on assigned properties. This includes minor construction, electrical, carpentry, painting, preventative maintenance, seasonal preparation, and clean-up.
    • Changes light bulbs, cleans laundry rooms, trash pickup, change air filters, and other miscellaneous duties.
    • Maintains, inspects, and keeps fire extinguishers and smoke detectors in proper working order.
    • Performs general landscaping of the apartments. Includes sprinkler repair, sprinkler blowouts, watering, maintenance of flower beds, mowing and seasonal snow and ice removal.
    • Provides on-call emergency maintenance, as needed.
    • Minor installation or repair work which may include plumbing, carpentry, electrical and mechanical skills; operating hand and power tools.
    • Identifies needed repairs and preventative maintenance and schedules and performs the work.
    • Serves as the CSI representative for contracted repair, maintenance, or cleaning.
    • Other duties as assigned may include, but are not limited to, showing apartments and purchasing materials and supplies.
    • Assess, address, and document infrastructure damage.

    ** UNIQUE FUNCTIONS**

    • Maintains collaborative relationship with CSI Maintenance Department
    • Works independently. Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision.

    TECHNICAL EXPERTISE PREFERRED

    • Possess mechanical aptitude and abilities.

    EDUCATION / TRAINING PREFERRED

    • High school degree or equivalent required, associate degree or completion of some college course work preferred.

    WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS

    • 40 hours per week – schedule will include some evening, weekend and on-call duties as assigned by supervisor.
    • Indoors and outdoors. All weather conditions. Varying indoor conditions include hot, cold, noisy, and dirty conditions.
