    Job Description

    ** Broad Function and Purpose of Position** :

    The Planner supports execution of maintenance work through job planning, estimating, receiving, and coordinating parts and equipment for maintenance work orders. The planner ensures that the equipment, parts, materials, and special tools are ready and available when needed. The planner provides proper documentation of all work to be performed, so that proper evaluation and control of the maintenance function can be completed safely.

    ** Specific Responsibilities:**

    • Interface effectively with all personnel levels, including operators, to assist with repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance coordination.
    • Review work notifications/orders daily, discuss priorities with the Maintenance Manager and maintain an updated daily schedule.
    • Plan preventive and requested maintenance work according to priority and evaluate each work order to determine appropriate craft assignment.
    • Conduct pre-job walk downs to assess resources, estimate materials, crew size, and work duration. Identify special tools, procedures, and equipment requirements.
    • Prepare comprehensive job plan packages including required information, drawings, safety analysis, SDS, PPE requirements, LO/TO procedures, and other necessary documentation.
    • Maintain SAP-CMMS system integrity by updating coding structures, ensuring consistent status information, and managing system documentation.
    • Evaluate planned scope against expected corrective solutions and consult with Management as needed.
    • Identify vendor support requirements and include in work order packages. Review and furnish necessary engineering drawings and field sketches.
    • Ensure kitted materials are delivered to the staging area prior to scheduled work commencement and verify all permits and lockouts are in place.
    • Order and requisition materials and supplies through vendors, contractors, and internal contacts.
    • Conduct safety audits on machinery and teammates to ensure proper PPE and safety procedure compliance, maintaining records and directing corrective actions.
    • Maintain the job package library by updating based on work package feedback and participate in the predictive/preventative maintenance process.
    • Perform other work as assigned.

    Salary Range: $35 - $38 an hour based on education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • 5-7 years of maintenance experience; 5 years of maintenance planning experience preferred
    • Ability to teach others about maintenance and planning processes
    • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
    • High degree of precision and attention to detail with minimum tolerances
    • Basic math skills including working with numbers, angles, shapes, areas, and volumes
    • Knowledge of blueprint components including scales, symbols, and dimensions
    • Understanding of plant processes and how floor activities impact inventory accuracy and financial performance
    • Proficiency with SAP CMMS system, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and computer systems
