Assists in the management and coordination of operations for the Community Service Center (CSC). This includes assisting in the training and managing of a graduate intern, student Program Managers and approximately thousands of student volunteers. The incumbent also devotes time to communication with all community service student groups, maintenance of current programs and outreach to develop new ones. The Assistant Director will help to provide leadership to increase the number of one-time service opportunities and to increase the capacity and quality of existing programs to ensure their permanence. The Assistant Director assists in major promotional activities, alumni outreach and fundraising efforts to increase awareness of Community Service Center programs throughout the Boston University campus community. This person, under the supervision of the Director, plays an important role in planning staff meetings, volunteer training, and leadership development.
