The Assistant Director has the primary responsibility of managing the visitor experience for BU Admissions at the Alan and Sherry Leventhal Center along with the Senior Assistant Director. The Assistant Director will work in a fast-paced environment where organization, attention to detail, and problem solving are important skills of the ideal candidate as the Center welcomes nearly 80,000 visitors to campus annually. The Assistant Director co-manages 30-50 Student Admissions Representatives, 40 Scarlet Speakers, up to 250 student volunteer tour guides, and 24 full-time Summer Student Admissions Representatives. The Assistant Director also manages the group visit program and the corresponding logistics of more than 300 group visit requests and scheduling the staffing to support over 150 special groups that visit campus each year. The Assistant Director will work with University departments including Dining Services, Facilities, Parking Services, Student Employment, and academic departments, as well with as outside vendors, to provide appropriate services at the Center. Therefore, strong relationship building skills are essential. Additionally, the Assistant Director represents the University at the Center by making presentations through information sessions to prospective students and families visiting campus.
