OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT
Marlborough School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Soccer Coach to join our coaching staff. The ideal candidate will support the Head Coach in all aspects of team management, training, and development, ensuring a positive and competitive environment for our athletes. This Part-time, Seasonal position reports directly to the Athletic Director and Soccer Program Head
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist, organize, and conduct practice sessions to develop athletes' skills, techniques, and overall performance.
Teach the fundamentals of Soccer, including rules, strategies, and sportsmanship.
Assess the abilities and potential of student-athletes, providing individualized coaching and feedback.
Develop game strategies and coordinate with the Program Head to ensure cohesive program development.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices, matches, and travel.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture.
Help manage team logistics, including scheduling practices, matches, and transportation.
Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, school administration, and other stakeholders.
Promote academic success and good character among student-athletes.
Adhere to all school policies, athletic department guidelines, and league regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree
Previous coaching experience in Soccer at the high school or club level.
Strong knowledge of the game of Soccer, including rules, techniques, and strategies.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor student-athletes.
Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment.
CPR and First Aid certification Required.
Must pass a background check.
Practices and matches may take place outside in various weather conditions.
Flexible schedule required, including evenings and weekends.
COMPENSATION
$25.00 to $40.00 per hour
