Manager of the Frank & Eileen Accelerator Program for the Leaders of Tomorrow/

    Engineering and Entrepreneurship Program Instructor

    2024-2025 School Year

Founded in 1889, Marlborough School is an independent girls college-preparatory school for grades 7 through 12 located in Los Angeles, California. Marlborough is the oldest independent girls’ school in the Southern California region. Central to Marlborough’s vision that Equity Leads Education is the belief in and passion for empowering young women to use their immense talents to better the world and become trailblazers in their own right. Bolstered by world-class faculty and staff, Marlborough students are challenged and inspired to work towards their own personal best and, in doing so, have an almost endless array of courses, extracurriculars, electives, and programs to spark their curiosity, deepen their compassion for one another, and lead lives of purpose.

    OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT:

The Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) is where students create and collaborate, fail forward, and equip themselves with the tools and skills needed to become the leaders of the future. At the root of our mission is a commitment to inspire and empower students to imagine where their curiosity can take them and to create a better world. Marlborough’s CEI houses five core programs, including: Entrepreneurship & Engineering, Research, Computer Science & Software Innovation, Robotics & Fabrication, and Media Studies, as well as the library. CEI programs, courses, and co-curricular opportunities encourage exploration, iteration, collaboration, and creativity through project-based learning and real-world work with mentors and collaborators in-house, across Los Angeles, and beyond. Students gain valuable insight and exposure to interdisciplinary fields outside the traditional school curriculum, while engaging in passion projects and developing tangible, translatable skills.

This person will lead the Frank & Eileen Accelerator Program for the Leaders of Tomorrow, which includes both an idea incubator (for students who have an idea for a business, but have not yet developed a minimal viable product or prototype) and a business accelerator (for students who have a minimal viable product or prototype and are ready to take their venture idea to the next level). Collaborating with and reporting to the Engineering and Entrepreneurship Program Head, the Manager of the Frank & Eileen Accelerator Program will develop lesson plans and programming, facilitate mentorship relationships both inside and outside of the Marlborough community, and assist in the planning and execution of events and activities. In addition to managing the Frank & Eileen Accelerator Program, this person will teach engineering and entrepreneurship courses to Middle and Upper School students, working closely with the Engineering & Entrepreneurship Program Head, the Director of the CEI, and other school leaders to ensure alignment with the mission and vision of Marlborough School.
