  • Responsibilities

    The position of Official Shot Clock Operator is in the Athletics Department.  This individual would keep :30 second shot clock operation for Women’s and Men’s Basketball home games on Kishwaukee College campus.  Events typically start mid to late afternoons and early evenings and run about two (2) hours in duration each game.

    Official Shot Clock Operator will also have to interact with Kishwaukee coaching staffs, referees/officials, student athletes and opposing team coaches and players.  Basketball season is from early October until mid-March each year.  Games are typically on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the week as well as some Saturdays.  Other days of the week do occur on occasion.

    SUPERVISORIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  None

     

    ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Supervise the running of :30 second shot clock during games
    • Understanding of basketball rules

     

    WORKLOAD SUMMARY: (Special physical requirements necessary for performance of the job)

    • Work may include lifting some electronic equipment no more than 5-10 pounds
    • Work is conducted in a loud indoor gymnasium environment
    • This position requires some physical activity and movement but also requires sitting at a scorer’s table for hours at a time

    Required Experience

    • Some previous relevant shot clock experience at high school or college level.

    • Some experience as a former student athlete in college for basketball or previous relevant experience
