    Position Details Position Information Position Title Verizon Internship Position Summary This position makes equipment and training programs available for use in the development of local programming. Responsible for PEG services including, but not limited to, inventory/equipment management, program & equipment training, video production, social media management, supporting/mentoring students, and assisting TV/Film curricula. Required Qualifications This position is only applicable for students and alumni of the Mercer Film & TV Program. Manage e-mail listserv and social media platforms for Film & TV Department, including regularly updating Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram to provide relevant department information to students and the community. Have experience creating engaging media content, both visual/audio and textual, for social media platforms regarding department news and events. Have experience producing, directing, and assisting mobile broadcast events utilizing the Colleges mobile broadcast truck Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Adobe Creative Cloud software: Premiere Pro, Audition, PhotoShop, and After Effects. Have experience producing, directing, and assisting studio productions utilizing Colleges control room and TV studio Generate creative ideas for productions involving students. Demonstrate technical proficiency in setting up, wiring, and operating studio and remote production equipment. Demonstrate proficiency with the professional standards and techniques of video production equipment (lights, microphones, cameras, etc.). Professional ability in filming, editing, lighting, and designing sound for video productions. Must be flexible in scheduling and available to work weekdays, weeknights, and weekends when needed. (Advance notice will be provided). Must possess professional communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with outside clients, College employees, and students. Must be efficient operating Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications. Must be well-organized and demonstrate a solid media management workflow from pre-production to distribution. Film & Video Production Plans, executes, and successfully completes a wide array of film and video productions, including pre-production, single camera & multicamera formats, studio-based productions, field-based productions, and digital software-based post-production for all types of screens and platforms, including social media and mobile. Social Media Understands and can professionally utilize popular social media platforms as a means of effective communication to students, the campus, and larger community. Supervisory Responsibilities: Maintain Verizon equipment room for public access. Education and/or Experience: This position is for current students and alumni of MCCCs Film & Video program only. Associates Degree preferred or at minimum 2-3 years of related production experience & college coursework required (including successful completion or equivalent of CMN141, CMN142, CMN146, and CMN241). Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to lift, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Candidates must be able to lift and carry assorted production equipment of up to 25 lbs. for studio and remote productions.
