  • Responsibilities

    The Workforce and Community Programs Department (WCP) at Arapahoe Community College has an opening for a part-time Instructor to teach QuickBooks during the Fall 2019 semester.

    This course introduces how to run QuickBooks for small to mid-size businesses, how to set up a chart of account, reconcile checking accounts, create estimates, invoices, receipts and understand how to track payables, inventory and receivables.  This course will be scheduled in the evenings.

    Part-time Instructors report to the Director of WCP and are assigned courses by the WCP Operations Manager.  WCP Instructors do not have supervisory responsibilities. Responsibilities include instruction, student assessment, and other related instructional duties.

    The instructor must be patient, and respectful, while also providing their expectations for what is considered acceptable work. The instructor must display dedication to the class as well as the goals of the program.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related subfield;

    OR

    • Four (4) years’ experience utilizing QuickBooks or the MS Office Suite in an occupational setting, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • QuickBooks Certification.
    • Microsoft Office Specialist Certification.

    • Computer skill proficiency; particularly in M/S Office programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is generally confined to a standard office environment.

     

     

    PHYSICAL & COGNITIVE DEMANDS: 

    • This position operates in a standard office, classroom and teaching laboratory environment and constantly uses a computer equipment, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
    • Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
    • Occasionally moves, positions, and transports classroom equipment, up to 20 lbs.
