Part-Time Laboratory Service Assistant (LSA)- Specimen Collection

Reporting to the Head of the Information and Research Services Division, the Government Information Librarian provides leadership and coordination for the access, use, and awareness of state and federal government documents collections and services, including the Mansfield Library’s Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP). Responsibilities of the position include training and advisory communications with the 10 Montana Selective Depositories, responding to inquiries and requirements from the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO), and communicating with other Regionals around the country. The Government Information Librarian is responsible for FDLP outreach, public access, support services, collection development, and serves as the primary liaison to the GPO in matters related to the Library’s service as a Regional Depository Library. The individual will connect this work to larger university projects and initiatives focused on justice, democracy, and civic engagement in support of the University of Montana’s Justice, Policy and Public Service Community of Excellence. The Government Information Librarian consults and collaborates with scholars, participates in a dynamic instructional program, provides reference and information services for the University’s students and faculty as well as members of the community. Some evening and weekend instruction and/or reference duty is required. University of Montana faculty members contribute to faculty governance activities within the Library and the University, engage in community and professional service, and pursue an active scholarly agenda including publication and research.

The Maureen and Mike Mansfield Library is the largest library in the state of Montana with a spirit of collaboration among a variety of state and regional library partners.
