Written stories may also be used in university publications such as The Blue & Gold magazine and The Review tabloid. Write news and feature articles that will be used in traditional and new media. Conduct interviews. Maintain ongoing contact with assigned representatives on campus in addition to following up on specific stories assigned by supervisor. Other duties as assigned. Required Education Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities Knowledge of how to construct a news/feature story. Good news/feature/public relations writing skills. Good oral communications skills. Dependability and self-motivation a must. Good typing/computer skills. Application letter, writing samples and references required. Education/training in public relations, journalism or related communications field. Preferred Qualifications Professional writing experience. Understanding of the university departmental structure. Special Requirements Accuracy. Correct grammar and punctuation. Ability to thoroughly research background for stories. Ability to interview individuals from a variety of academic and administrative areas by phone, email and in person. Tact.
