ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY & HEALTH- Student Worker/ Internship (Pool) Bookmark this Pool | Print Preview | Apply for this Pool Pool Details Posting Information Pool Name ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY & HEALTH- Student Worker/ Internship Job Title ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY & HEALTH- Student Worker/ Internship Posting Number Type of Employment Student Position Type Student Pools Position Information Job Description Summary Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Inspection, inventory and maintenance of all MSU fire extinguishers, including those at satellite campuses Hydrostatic testing and filling of water fire extinguishers Perform safety audits as needed Conduct monthly life safety inspections on all MSU buildings Weekly collection, inventory, labeling and transportation of hazardous waste Clean and maintain the Hazardous Materials storage building Wash and maintain ES&H trucks Train MSU Housing staff, lab employees and others as needed in the proper use of fire extinguishers Assist with annual fire alarm inspections Perform Lab Safety inspections Conduct Job Hazard Analysis as needed Inspect and maintain AEDs Designate evacuation assembly points and install appropriate signage Sketch emergency evacuation routes and recommend appropriate signage Required Education Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities Should have 40 credit hours of course work earned toward a degree in Occupational Safety & Health. Preferred Qualifications Part-time. Maximum of 20 hours per week during the Spring/Fall semester. Additional hours may be required/available during the summer months. Special Requirements Must have a valid drivers license. Must be capable of operating a University pickup and freight truck with lift gate.
