NEIDL Laboratory Operations Manager, National Emerging Infectious Disease Lab
The NEIDL Laboratory Operations Manager reports to the NEIDL Associate Director Research Operation and is responsible for the day-to-day operational support, coordination, and continuous improvement of NEIDL laboratories BSL2, BSL3, BSL4 .This position requires laboratory experience in order to establish meetings and processes to facilitate the efficient operation of the labs, will interact with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Facilities Management (FMP), IT Department and other operational departments as well as the researcher groups. As this person will work in maximum containment (BSL4) laboratory, s/he is subject to a host of compliance requirements including, but not limited to, medical surveillance, security risk assessment for access to select agents, institutional biosafety requirements, and any additional didactic and hands on trainings as necessary to carry out the functions of the position.
Required Skills
3-5 years of experience and a master's degree required.

The National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories (NEIDL) is part of a national network of secure facilities that study infectious diseases – whether they occur naturally or are introduced deliberately through bioterrorism. The NEIDL is dedicated to the development of diagnostics, vaccines and therapeutics to combat emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases. In addition to Bio Safety Level (BSL)-2 and BSL-3 laboratories, the NEIDL houses BSL-4 laboratories that will operate at the highest level of containment. The NEIDL will add to the growing life sciences industry in the region, throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and across the country.
